After a LONG couple of days and having stupid stuff happen over and over again to me, having it be "that time of the month" and a headache that has lasted me 5 days now, I am feeling blue. Don't you hate that? It is stupid too because nothing major happened. No one is ill, no one got in an accident, our cars weren't stolen ( but could have been! ) and no body got put in jail so I should not be so grumpy. But I had 25 thousand little things happen over the last 5 days that have made it FEEL like someone died or the cars got stolen or something. When you stop and think about it all I should feel lucky. I have a great family, I belong to a wonderful church and I know my Heavenly Father loves me so who cares about anything else. Sometimes....you just want things to go right though.
I decided today I was going to create SOMETHING even if it killed me ( or my kids ) to do so. I wanted to make some flowers for my etsy shop. So far, I have two made but that's okay. Do you know what I find to be one of the hardest parts about etsy? The pricing. I will spend hours going through and looking at other people's prices on items I have in my store and then I price accordingly. Why is it though that one person will have the same item as me for 30 dollars while someone else has it for 6 dollars and the one who has it in their shop for 30 dollars is the one selling all of them? This does not make sense to me. I don't wish to rip people off. I want to create and sell and have people be happy. I don't want to put my kids through college with the profits, I just want to keep creating. So let me ask y'all a question...
What do you look for when looking on line to buy something? Do you go for the one that is priced in the middle some where? Do you go for the most expensive hoping that means it is the best quality or do you go for the cheapest because it's the cheapest?!?! I seriously would like to know your opinion.
I haven't sold anything on etsy yet. That's okay. I am working on a custom item for someone. She contacted me wanting something I had already made but needed it in another color to match her wedding dress. I will post pictures when it is ready. I had to order some things on line in order to make it so I am patiently waiting on the things to arrive in the mail. I have LOTS of things coming in the mail I am anxious about. Can't wait to get them so I can go crafting crazy. And truth be told, hopefully sell some stuff so I can keep buying and crafting. haha

You know I go for cheap as long as it doesn't look cheap.
fair price. I want to buy quality so it doesn't all apart (Like Seth's bedding) Well made, for a decent price. It's got to last. My Roxy 'diaper' bag has gone through 2 babies and not one rip. No use in buying crappy stuff at a low price if I've got to keep buying it over and over again. Hope that helps ya!
I know what you mean Katie. When I buy on Etsy, I usually do because 1.is affordable for us, 2.because I like it, and 3. because it looks like good quality...I don't understand that either, and probably never will. How is it that the same thing, and even similar prints of fabric have different prices (very different sometimes!)...maybe because the cost of materials and how much you are paying yourself p/hour? but then I think that there are people there that actually want to live out of it...wish you luck with your store, and hope you feel better soon!
I think cute fabric (often designer fabric) makes a huge difference in sell ability too!
Would a coke help your headache? That always works for me :)
Love ya! Hang in there.
