Why Me?

Since getting into the crafting and sewing blog scene about 9 months or so ago I have noticed people melting down regular crayons in different molds to make there own. I noticed this a month or so before Halloween and while at the dollar store I found a pumpkin mold and a skull mold and thought "Oh yeah baby! i am so making skull crayons." I bought both of them and then put them away and never did it. I FINALLY decided to get out some crayons and do it while the kids were sleeping.

i was so excited to see how they came out. I checked two or three times to make sure everything was going well. There was four minutes left and there were a couple of pieces not quite done so I let it go the full fifteen minutes I had the timer set for. The timer went off, I opened the oven and THIS is what I saw

AND some of the crayon spilled in my oven. Seriously?! Am I the only one in the craft world who can't make her own freaking crayons?! BOOO But once they cooled I popped them out and they looked really cool. Two or three of them were a little warm still so the teeth didn't pop out but I was pleased with the results. I wish it hadn't of spilled in my oven and melted the little mold but oh well.

Sewing's Fun!

I am so happy and blessed to have a sewing machine! When I was with out one, I was starting to get into the craft blogs and was drooling over all the cute things people were creating with sewing. My friend told me to just get over and get a machine! haha SO I finally did and I have been sewing every since. On days like the one I had yesterday, sewing keeps me from crying! Some times life is hard with kids. It's even harder when your husband travels and you don't always have help. I was dying to get a dr. pepper last night right before bed time. If my husband had been here he would have gladly gone and gotten one but he wasn't. I was tempted but resisted. Thank goodness because about ten minutes later my son had an accident in his pants. It was so frustrating. I put them to bed and began to sew. I am making a purse for some and it is turning out beautifully! I can't wait to finish it today! The night before I did the same thing. I put the kids to bed and sewed for an hour. This is what i sewed then

I even took pictures and wrote down measurements and in a couple of days I will be posting a tutorial! WOO HOO Not only is this little bow tie so cute for boys, but is great in a single layer for girls hair! I made Kayla ( well I started one ) in black for her hair and it is so so so cute! I am excited to show you how to make it because it was super fast too. I think it took me a half an hour tops. I also can't wait to post pictures of the purse I am making. I should be done today so I can mail it off tomorrow. The only thing I hate is waiting for people to get their packages so I can post pictures! She reads this blog some times so I wouldn't want to ruin it for her. SOOOOOO happy sewing everyone. I hope it brings as much happiness to y'all as it does to me.

YEAH FOR POSTING!

I am so excited to be posting again! I made a few things last week but they were presents. I didn't want to post pictures until my friend got her stuff. She is having her second baby and I was planning on making her a tie onesie and then she ended up asking me to make her one before I did it! haha I guess it was meant to be. :) I also made her a guitar onesie. While I was making it Tyler saw it and asked if it was his! haha I told him it was for a baby so he asked me if I could make him one. Here is Tyler's shirt.....well kind of. I was actually taking a picture of the bow tie which he got at the thrift store that day.

And here are the baby things I made Cari

the changing pad/diaper and wipe holder

the onesies

I love how the changing pad came out. It is made out of terry cloth and some snuggle flannel. I found a tutorial on how to make it that I will post a link to tomorrow. I wish I had my sewing machine when Kayla was born because I would have LOVED one of those. It would come in so handy!

Pillow Talk

Well I actually finished the Valentines Day pillow for my husband. Needless to say since he has been gone for like 5 weeks, it has only been on ONE side. Haha But he likes it and I love how it turned out. I didn't quite fill it enough so it's a little sad but I love how the embroidery came out.

I am WAY excited because I got my new printer in the mail! The box was bigger then Tyler!!!

I can't wait to start printing HUGE! WOO HOO

BOOB Update

For those who have been reading this blog since the beginning, might remember a blog I wrote about my boobs. Well if you don't you can read it here. I have an update. I have recently lost 10 more pounds and have been SO happy about it. I hope to lose at least 10 more in the next month or so. Usually Boobs shrink when losing weight and I honestly thought they hadn't. Then Cody came home from his trip and someone was actually touching them....Yeah they got smaller. He says my butt is smaller too....I'm not sure about that one. He did say it while the lights were out, we were in bed and he was rubbing my bottom so he was judging solely on how it felt. Pretty scientific if you ask me. ANY WAYS....I went bra shopping on Saturday. The results are in and my boobs did shrink. The problem...they shrunk enough to not fill out a D cup all the way BUT they didn't shrink enough to fit into a C cup! What the heck. So now, it's either a bra that's slightly too big and bags, or one that is too small and my boobs don't fit into all the way. Boooooooooooo At least I lost the 10 pounds and I wouldn't trade that for the boobs any day!

Yummy Tortilla Soup

This is the best smooth tortilla soup ever! I don't even like tomato's or onions and I will make this and eat it for three days straight! TRY it an dyou will NOT be disappointed. In fact, everyone I give this recipe too ends up loving it and becoming obsessed with it to.

Tortilla Soup

Start by boiling 8 cups chicken broth with two to three chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. ( leave them in whole because you will take them out later ) Two for good heat and three for very hot

PUT
14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
1 small 8 oz can tomato sauce
4 tbsp snipped cilantro
2 cloves of garlic
1 small onion

Blend together in food processor or Blender. Once the chicken broth is boiling, pour mixture into soup and let come to boil again. Then reduce heat to a simmer for 20 minutes.

Now at this point you can take the peppers out or leave them in. It's up to you. The longer you leave them in, the hotter the soup gets. I usually store left overs with a pepper still in it because it will keep it hot! If its already plenty hot for you, take them out.

Now whatever you add next is up to you. These are a few suggestions:
cheese
shredded chicken
tortilla chips
lime juice
avocado
rice
black beans

I personally love adding cheese and shredded chicken. I also have grow to love the rice in it and I know it is called TORTILLA soup but with the cheese, chicken and rice, I don't even need the tortillas. The scoop chips work best because they make little bowls in your soup. My sisters can't have it without the lime so try everything and see what you like. Also, if you like things chunky you don't have to blend everything. Just add it to the soup how it already is for some chunks. Enjoy and let me know if you make it how you like it!!! I'm going to make some today! MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Valentines Day suggestions

If my last Valentines day suggestion of the "sex pillow" wasn't for you, let me suggested a few more for you. There are all for adults just so you know. Our first Valentines day together we were newly married and BROKE! We had NO money and I didn't even have my license so I was at a lose of what to do for Cody. I knew I could try and make him something but even that was a challenge. I was looking at all of my craft stuff, which at the time wasn't much and then I saw a Victoria Secrets catalog and started flipping through it. Then inspiration struck.....sorta. I started picking up the really sexy outfits in the magazine and gluing them onto paper. Then I took pictures of me and cut my face out and pasted them over the models. It was hilarious. The other day I was flipping through some of our stuff and I found them! I thought I was gonna die laughing. SO I thought I would share so you could get a laugh too. So here are a couple of the ones I did for him

I thought I scanned more then just two, but I guess not! haha Any ways. Cody thought this was pretty funny and I love looking back on them now. They make me laugh. I love making memories when you try and create stuff. Now this was a silly suggestion that will get your husband laughing. If you want to get him excited you can do something else I did for my husband. I bought a calendar from the dollar store. I bought one of those little ones that practically fits in your hand but still looks exactly like a regular calendar. I took sexy pictures of myself and printed them at home, cut them up and I became the center fold on every month! Be as sexy or unsexy as you want. I did some sexy pictures and some pictures that I just thought were good pictures of me. He loved it! I mean what guy wouldn't like that right.

Another idea if you have a traveling man like myself is to buy a pillow case and some t-shirt transfer. I again, printed out a bunch of pictures but this time I did ones of the whole family. Some of my son by himself, some of our daughter by herself and then some mix and match ones of everyone together. I put them all over one side of the pillow case. THEN on the OTHER side I did one huge sexy picture of me and then a bunch of other ones around the center one. That way my man can have the family side up in the hotel and then at night he can flip it over and drool all over my sexy pictures and hopefully have nice dreams. I have done other things in the past but I am drawing a blank for now. Hope this helps someone or at least makes you laugh at the pictures of me as a Victoria Secrets model. : )

Valentines Day Dirty

Okay so EVERYONE in the crafting blog world is making all these cutesy valentines stuff. Lots of hearts and lace and pink sparkly things. I am not really that girly. I have been WAY more since I had my girl but even then, pink is usually a little too much for me still. I wanted to make something for my husband that wasn't cute or girly. I actually wanted to make him something dirty. I bought a hanging plaque from the dollar store and was going to paint him a sign to hang on the door of our room. I figured it could be a "Come in" or "Don't Come In" kind of thing and I went from there. My brain works in strange ways. So then I was thinking, "What would a boy want on Valentines day?" Dumb question right? They want sex. So then I was thinking, boys always complain that they never know when girls WANT to have sex and when we don't. Now I have something.....SO this is what I came up with

After using the plaque for something else, I decided maybe I would try embroidery. I had never done it before so I looked at some videos on line. I ended up making a pillow that let's my man know when he is getting some and when he isn't.

NOT GETTING SOME

GETTING SOME

So what do you think? I still need to sew it closed so don't pay too much attention to the side that is still open. haha

Oh My!

Check out this cute Owl flash drive! I mean, it just doesn't get much cuter then this! HERE

Did I Mention I Love Owls?

Have I mentioned that I love owls....? I think once or twice right?! It's kind of annoying that owls are so popular because it makes me feel all trendy but I have been into them WAYYYYYYYYYY before you could find them any where other then thrift stores. Now you can find them at Walmart. It's nice but annoying. Any ways...I made me a wallet with some cute owl fabric I got a month or so ago. I think it turned out really cute.

Kayla LOVES her snuggy pictured here

She sleeps with it. She HAS to have it with her to sleep. That and her thumb in her mouth. So I wanted to make her a new one. Her's used to be Tyler's and it's looking pretty sad. So I made her an owl one. I think it came out cute. The blanket I made is one of the worse sewing jobs ever but that's okay. She won't know. HAHA

She was loving the button eyes and nose. I hope she'll grow to love it.

Been A While

Sorry it's been a while without a new blog. I have been crafting lots.....BUT I have not been finishing the projects. It's kind of hard to blog about things when you don't finish them. SOOOOOOOOOO here is the ONE thing I finished this week...Actually I finished it last week but never took pictures of it.

It's a reversible purse. I LOVE the fabrics together but I am not super happy with the results. The size is all wrong. Now I am going to have to try it again. I really like it in theory though and can't wait to try and make it again. I guess I should have just bought the pattern for 8 bucks but I couldn't resist trying it on my own first. haha
