Where were you when you heard about the planes crashing into the World Trade Center? Do you remember? I was in the car with my dad on the way to my college ( yeah I was a loser and didn't drive! ) I had a big math test. A week later the teacher let everyone re-take it because everyone did so awful. The whole day was weird. By the time lunch came around all the teachers were telling everyone to go home and be with their families. My best friend Myra came over to my house and her, my sister Kim and I watched the news for hours. Then we felt like we HAD to get out of the house and do something so we went to Chili's. NO ONE WAS OUT AT ALL! We told the waitress we felt bad for coming but we were going so crazy in the house watching the news. She laughed and told us she had to be there so she may as well be doing something.
I remember the couple of days that followed it was almost impossible to buy an American Flag because SO many people ran out to buy them and show their support for this country. I was fortunate to not have anyone I loved be killed or injured. Others were not so lucky. I can't even believe how many people died that day or the days to follow. I wish I would have saved news paper clippings for my childred but I am sure they will see their share of horrible things like this.
I am proud to be an American and will never forget this day.

I can't believe its been 9 years and I remember it so clearly too. I was was working at Home Depot and had to start at 6am. When I went in to the break room before work everyone was in there just staring at the tv. We were watching as the second plane hit.I was in complete disbelief that this could happen here.
Odd that we've never shared "where we were". My story is kind of long but very memorable. A big similarity is that Jenny and I were also going crazy just watching the news so we ended up at McD. Long story short... Thanks to my baby, I'm starting to change the way I think of 9/11.
