Man, just when I get into the groove of writing regular blogs again, I am off to Utah for a week. I finished my moms purse and was about to take pictures to publish and then realized that would be super unfair since she hasn't even seen it yet. SOOOOOO when I get back I will post pictures of my mom and her purse. It was SO much easier the second time around and I thought it was pretty easy the first time so that was cool. When I get back I plan on making a couple of purse AFTER I make myself a camera bag. I have been DYING to make me a camera bag to hold all of my stuff. I am aslo dying to try and use one of my new purse patterns. This is good news for all y'all because I have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many purses. Which means, I need to give some away. So as long as you don't mind purses that have been used a little, I'll start doing some give aways. I have some canvas prints we printed and haven't done anything with yet so I think I will be giving some of those away too. Yipee!
So have a great week Y'all and I'll be back up in busy next Thursday!

Fan Cover
This post is not terribly exciting. I have been meaning to post it before I forget. How many of you have a fan that looks like this
And thought to yourself, "The openings in that are WAY too small for little kids to get their fingers in so I don't need to worry about it"? Well, let me tell you this is mostly true. Fingers can not fit into those tiny slots but leave it to my daughter to find things that DO fit in to this fan. We went to turn on this fan and it wouldn't start. Just like that. But we could tell it was trying to work. We thought, "Maybe there is something in it blocking it." So the next day I turned it upside down and a letter came out of it. My daughter is obsessed with the alphabet. Tyler has a magnetic chalk board right by the fan with magnet letters on it. She will play with it all by herself for up to a half an hour some times. I figured I better do something about the fan. I started working on a cover for it. We had JUST bought Toy Story fabric at Walmart and I didn't have anything in mind for it. While I was working on it we went to turn the fan on that night and guess what? The fan wouldn't start again. This time Cody pulled all of this out of the fan
Holy cow she has shoved a lot of stuff in that fan. So I finished the cover while they were sleeping and I do use the term "finish" very lightly. I finished it enough to cover the fan so she didn't keep shoving stuff in it but it isn't actually done. I want to put some ric rac around the bottom and I wanted to put an applique on the white part. Some day I might even get around to it.
While I was using the Toy Story fabric I made my boy a pillow for his bed. He loves it SO MUCH! Its funny how the silliest things make your kids day. Here is the front
and the back using the extra fabric
The fan cover is doing its job. Kayla likes playing with Buzz on it and talking to him and tickling him but she has yet to shove things in the fan so I guess this sewing experiment was a success.
Oh and isn't that Toy Story blanket cute? My mom made it for Tyler as a surprise for when we got to Utah. He LOVES it!

Flowers Tutorials
Flowers are so stinking popular right now. Either as hair clips for girls, pins to women's clothing or just an accessory for a purse, they are every where! I saw this at the dollar store and decided to buy it just to take it apart to see how it was made.
It looked like this on the back
So I got started! I grabbed a raggedy, old, white t-shirt and made a bunch of circles
Then I folded one circle in half like this
Then again
and again
Do this same thing to all your circles, sew the bottoms together ( which I do not show because I am going to show you how to make several more flowers with the same circles...) and you have your first flower!
Now here are the different variations of flowers that I always seem to use. The white t-shirt doesn't work as well for some of these especially in pictures but I think you will get the point in following along with the pictures.
For the next flowers I went ahead and rounded the edges to give it a little bit more of a flower feel.
Once you open it up it should look like this
Now just simply stack them. I put the smaller ones on top because there were a few after cutting the edges down ended up much smaller then the rest.
Pinch the stack in the center and then sew a couple of quick stitches to help it keep the scrunched look
Then add something in the center like a plastic button, some bling or a cute fabric cover button.
Ready for flower number three? Take the same stack of circles and simply just scrunch the center all the way up and then sew it down creating more of a flower like the first one but it gives it a more organized look.
Like I said, these are just slight variations. It just comes down to personal preference on all of these.
Okay I have 2 or 3 more. Next, set a side four of the circles. Fold one in half and then another in half. Place the two halves with the folded side together in the center like shown
Next take the third circle, fold it in half and set it across the others like so
Take one side of this circle and tuck it underneath the one that is under it
And the last circle on the other side, tuck it like you did to the last one. You should have a pretty flower
Sew in the center so the pieces are connected and again add a button or something. I use this finished flower
Another flower I use a lot which is pretty much the same thing and will give you almost the same look depending on what kind of fabric you use is the next one. Take the four circles again and fold them all in half. Then fold them in half again and then put the centers together to form a flower
Add something to the center again.
Now another thing you can do if using a plain fabric like I used is to take paint or a fabric marker and color all the way around the edges of your flower.
Try some of the flowers again with this new two toned flower
Any ways. Hopefully this was helpful. I know there are a million tutorials for these out there but I thought I would show you the variations in one post to make it easier. Here are some pictures of these flowers with different fabric I have done and used.
Like I said, I favor the one flower. I use it a lot. Hope you learned something. Now go make some fabric flowers and let me know how it goes.

Spiders
I love spiders. Well....let me re-phrase. I LOVE spiders as long as they are not in my house, car or crawling on me. I think they are the coolest looking things ever. A while ago I was in an antique shop and found a spider charm for a necklace. It was SO cute but I am kind of a cheapo and didn't want to pay the 16 dollars for it especially seeing as thought I would still have to get a chain for it. I would go to the antique store and look at it. I did this several times and one day I finally decided to get it. It was going to be mine. I am SO glad I did because they lady who rang it up was really sad I was buying it because she was planning on buying it after she got off of work that day. Heehee Sucka
Friday I guess I was feeling really spider-y here is my necklace
I also wore an old hair thing I bought when I was in high school. Check it out
I read a blog about doing a self portrait and I wanted to try....not sure how I feel about it so I need to try again sometime but this is all I have had time for lately.
I have a lot of stuff to do before our trip this week. I can't wait to go back to Utah. we are only going to be gone for a week this time and we are going to do lots of hiking and picture taking! WOO HOO I finished the purse for my mom too and I promise tomorrow to upload some pictures. Happy Sunday everyone!!

Eventful Day
yesterday was definitely eventful. Nothing MAJOR but lots of minor things. It started out with me falling down the stairs and smacking my back really hard up against the wall at the bottom. Now before any one freaks out too bad, I only have 3 stairs. I am sure those who have not seen my house were envisioning MUCH worse but trust me the three stairs were plenty for me. Then we were running late getting out of the house. We FINALLY got into the car and three blocks away when my boy started crying because he couldn't find something. He said he left it at home. I didn't want him crying the whole way there so I turned around to go back to get it. I run in the house try and find it and can't. I go back to the car look for TWO SECONDS and of course, it was there the whole time but Tyler just doesn't know how to look for stuff! GRRRRRR
At this point I am super annoyed but whatever. I drop Tyler and Kayla off at Jen's house and go to do a photo shoot with a bride and her sisters. They just happen to be Jen's nieces and Jen made the dress. It was very pretty and she made it in like 2 or 3 weeks. It would have taken me forever especially since she has three hper boys at home all day long! You go JEN!
The photo shoot went well. It was really freaking hot though and I went to pick up the kids at Jen's. We got about 3 blocks away again and I realized we forgot Kayla's snuggy. Thank goodness she will take the new one I bought her now so I decided I would just get it from Jen on Sunday. Keep driving.....Kayla falls asleep pretty quick. We get home and it is almost 2 but the kids haven't had lunch. I cook them hot dogs and I make me some mac and cheese. get them down for naps by 2:45 or so and FINALLY get to eat lunch and load the pictures on my lap top. Kids won't nap....DANG! Get them back up and they are cranky! Kayla keeps walking into things, falling off of things or just flat out crying for NO REASON! Gave herself a black eye by walking into a drawer that was open because I was doing dishes and putting them away.
We got dinner made, got some stuff done around the house and are trying to get the kids bed EARLY! While we are doing baths and stuff my husband informs me that I MADE MY FIRST ETSY SALE! WOO HOO I am so excited. So we get the kids to bed pretty much on time in stead of early, shower, print out my picture on canvas, spray it and we are off to bed by 11. Our stupid neighbors are outside and talking with friends until midnight. I wanted to shoot them because they were right outside our window. get up at 6:15 and Kayla starts talking to herself......SERIOUSLY! So I finally got the kids up at 7 which I SERIOUSLY could not believe they were already up!! I got all of my moms purse cut out and so now I just need to find some time today to iron on the interfacing so tomorrow, Sunday and Monday I can hopefully finish it. We leave Wednesday for Utah again, only this time we will only be gone a week. The night we get there is when the Twilight movie comes out and so I get to go see it with my sisters! YEAH! So excited.
So now that my complaining is done, wanna see a cute picture from the shoot yesterday?
I knew the girls all had cowgirl boots so I told them to bust them out so we could take pictures with those too! Cute right?! Since Lettice hasn't actually gotten married yet I am not gonna post any pictures from this until after her wedding. That way no one will see her dress before hand. Happy friday everyone! I hope I don't end up killing my kids....I need a Dr. Pepper already. Sonic here I come!!!!!

Wednesdays
So Wednesday's are mine and Cody's designated "date" night. When I say date night, I really mean play night. haha We don't actually go any where. When we put the kids to bed we go shower RIGHT AWAY and then we have alone time. This has done wonders for us. Some time's it is SO late when we get to bed that we end up kissing goodnight and going right to sleep. Not that we were doing this a LOT but since Kayla our "alone time" has gone down a lot. Once we talked about having Wednesday nights be OURS we forgot about it. The last couple of weeks we have been doing it again and it has been so wonderful. So you know what tonight is right?! Wednesday! YEAH! So I will not be able to post the blog I have had written in my head for the past two days. It will have to wait until tomorrow or possibly Friday. BUT I did want to inform everyone that I FINALLY got some more pictures up in my ETSY site. Go check them out please. I am thinking of having a canvas give away. I have some pictures already printed out I was thinking of giving away. Let me know if any one thinks that sounds like a good idea or not. Would you be interested in winning one?
Alright, have a GREAT Wednesday everyone...I know I will. heehee

Beautiful Blog?
So how many of you guys have seen those blog awards out there? Yeah me too...not because I personal have gotten one for this blog or anything but because all the blogs I stalk get them. Well, last week I got a new follower who has a very cute blog. Only a week after becoming my follower she gave me the Beautiful blog Award! Wasn't that nice of her?!?! SO Joy over at MommasKindaCrafty, You Rock! Thank you for the award. Thank you . Thank you. Thank you. There are so rules though...
Here are the rules for accepting this award:
1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
2. Share 10 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic!
4. Contact the bloggers you've picked and let them know about the award.
Well. Here are Ten things about me.
1. I'm a photographer. I hate saying that too because what makes it possible to call yourself that? Like, I get paid ( sometimes ) to take pictures so does that count? haha I take SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many pictures all the time and LOVE it!
2. I was in the black student union in High School also known as BSU. The reason ( seeing as though I am as white as white can be ) They had a stomp/hip hop team. I wanted to be on it so bad but you had to join the club. Yes, I do realized I just said I was white as white can be but that doesn't mean I ain't got rhythm because I DO!
3. I can't spell to save my life!
4. I write poetry. Not as much any more but I would say over the years I have written at least 3 or 4 hundred. I bet MAYBE 100 out of those are actually goo. haha
5. I stay friends with pretty much all of my ex-boyfriends.
6. My family is awesome! My sister Kim was my best friend in high school ( sorry Kristy, you were married and moved away by then ). In fact, in college we used to walk around campus holding hands just to be stupid and my sister's friends used to be AMAZED by this. None of them could be around there sisters for too long without fighting.
7. I ha issues when I had my last baby. They inuced labor a week before my due date, it only took like 6 hours and about 3 or 4 pushes and she was out...however my placenta was stuck and had to be removed for me. So with a DandC, a lot of bleeding and a blood transfusion, I was FINALLY allowed to go home after like 6 days in the hospital. My boy poor Tyler had never been even a night without me. He was DYING to have me back home!!!
8. I am running out of things to write here...haha My husband and I met, talk on line and through emails for a month, started dating and got engaged 2 months later. We were then married 5 months later. We hadn't even known the other one exist a year before our wedding but it didn't matter because he is wonderful and I love him to death. We have a pretty successful marriage if you ask me.
9. I like to check out girls with my husband! haha All the guys at his work don't believe him either but for instance we will be eating at a restaurant and I will say, "Oh my gosh, did you see that chicks boobs?" No lie people. He tells the guys at his work that he can point hot chicks out to me and they seriously think he is fibbing! And do you know what is hilarious about it? We almost NEVER agree and so we just always say we have "different taste in women!" heehee
10. I love HOOTERS! You know, the restaurant? That is another one my husband's co-workers don't believe. They built a HOOTERS in the city he works in and all the guys we going to lunch and while they were there he picked up the phone to call me to brag about it. They all thought he was CRAZY! "You are TELLING your wife?" And my husband just looked at them and was like, "Yeah she is going to be so jealous!" haha
And that's all folks. Hopefully known of those scared you! And if you are a follower I hope you STAY a follower. That's the problem with having a small number of people who read your blog. YOu notice when you lose one. In fact last week sometime my followers went from 31 down to 30. DOH! Who ever I lost...sorry. :)
So now for the blogs I recently found that I think are beautiful...
Amy @ PriddyCreataions
She makes the cutest camera bags and accessories.
Kristen @ Kristen Duke Photography
She takes wonderful photos and I was SO happy when I found her blog a little while ago.
Richelle @ Richelles Creative Corner. Cutest baby shoes ever!
Jennifer @ Patche Work Possibilities
I happen to know Jen personally and she is amazing! Sews, cooks and home schools the kids! I can't WAIT to push mine off to school! haha
Jackie @ House of Sarager This chick CRACKS ME UP! She is super sweet too. Go check out her blog of all sorts of things but mainly to laugh and have fun.
I am sure there are more but I haven't found many "new" ones lately. Just been stalking the same old, same old ones you know. So to those blogs I think are beautiful that I have been stalking forever now, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL TOO! :)
It was nice to get this award. I was told Sunday about getting it and I wasn't having the best day ever. I had been told something at church that made me feel like I was a guy who had just been kicked in the groin! I'll tell y'all about it sometime. It was not fun!!!

Apron
Okay so I been telling y'all that I was working on something for a present. I got to give it to her today and I have pictures. WOO HOO I took pictures of me wearing it but then I ended up getting some of her wearing it. First the apron
Didn't it turn out cute? I love it! I want to make myself one now!! :) And here is the other part of the present. A garter, but not just any garter...it has a washer with her future husbands name on it! heehee
Any ways. I looked up garters on ETSY and as far as I could see NO ONE was selling them with the personalized washer on it. I am thinking about making some and trying to sell them for 15 to 20 bucks. What do you guys think? Too much money? Most of the ones on etsy were any where from 15 to 40 bucks. I swear people charge SO much for some things on that site.
Here is a picture of me in the apron before I gave it to her
Oh and I almost forgot, as a wedding present I printed out some of the pictures I took for them for their wedding invitations.

I LOVE Fridays!
What is it with Fridays and them being good?! I got to have lunch with my friend Sarah from SugarBananas ( go check out here blog for yummy HEALTHY recipes! ), I finished my bridal shower present and I THINK I thought of something no one else is making and selling on line ( WOO HOO ) that I can make and sell if I wanted. ALSO, JoAnn's is having a kick ass sale and I spent 60 something bucks there! My husband was looking at the receipt on the way out the door and was so excited by ALL the deals we got! I bought a 10 yard roll of Pellon Stabilizer for when I make purses for only 30 bucks ( normally twice that ), I got some knit fabric to make a skirt for church for 60% off. THEN the whole reasons why I drove an hour to go down there... SIMPLICITY PATTERNS ARE ON SALE FOR $1.99!! Yup, you read that right! And there was like, EIGHT purse patterns that I have been dying to buy but wasn't going to pay the normal $15.99 a piece for them.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Oh and I was feature for two things over at Simply Sweet Home! YIPPEE I hope everyone else is having a good friday too. Tomorrow while I am at the bridal shower, Tyler and his daddy are going to see Toy Story 3 in 3D! How cool is that?! And they went and bought the tickets already and they got the coolest 3D glasses. Tyler didn't stop talking about it ALL night. We also ate at Texas Road house and it was awesome. I LOVE YOU FRIDAYS!!!

Tutorial Fun
I did some tutorials this morning before the kids got up and I LOVE them! Check them out. The first one being THIS flower at the end of the dress tutorial. This was my version
I like it BUT I am dumb. It said to do 9 petals and I decided to only do 7 and basically I should have done 9! haha Oh well. It still looks cute. The colors I did are for the apron I am working on. Not sure which flower I am going to use yet but here is the other tutorial I used HERE for another flower. Here is my version
I think I am going to use the second one on the apron but we shall see when it is all done. I only have one more day. YIKES! I hope I can get it finished without staying up to late tomorrow night.
So for a little funny...My boy had to draw a picture on Sunday of his family doing something he loved. This was Tyler's picture
Wild guess which one is ME?
Yup...That's me!

Feeling Blah
Do you ever have those days where you just feel....BLAH! That has kinda been me today. I am super excited because I started making an apron with no pattern or anything like that and it is still turning out pretty freaking cute. I can't post pictures until Saturday evening because it is a gift. That stinks but I am happy to be making it. I have actually sewn a lot lately. My friend came over with a bunch of maternity clothes she needed fixed. I helped her out with those and then decided that if I had time to do a couple of 5 minutes projects for her, I needed to make some time for some of MY 5 minute projects. I finished a pair of PJ bottoms that I made out of vintage sheets I got at a thrift store. I LOVE THEM! I will take pictures as soon as I fix them because the elastic I put in sucks and won't hold my pants up. I am really excited because i started them like 8 months ago when I first started sewing and they ended up being too small so I stopped working on them. I have lost 20 pounds since then so I tried them on and they fit! WOO HOO Now I just need to adjust them. I also made Tyler a pillow for his bed and a cover for his fan. All will be posted tomorrow or Friday. The first half of the day tomorrow will be gone for me already and then the second part of the day I need to clean and hopefully finish the apron I started today.
So back to the whole feeling Blah thing. I blogged about this in April when I was feeling down but wanted to mention it again. Why do we as women compare ourselves to others? I don't understand this. Whether it is looks, talents or life situations. It seems like I do this WAY too often. I am incredibly grateful for my life and the things I have. I feel super lucky all the time so why make myself feel less important or less special then someone else. It is stupid! Any one have a suggestion to help me out of this self sabotage thing? Like for instance, I was taught when I was younger if I was scared or something to sing a church hymn. Maybe I need to find one and start again. Any suggestions though would be nice.
For any one who is STILL reading this, I want to say thank you. You are a wonderful person and you are unique and talented in ways others are not! Don't compare. Be yourself and be HAPPY!
Good night y'all

Don't Be Jealous
So my SIL had a birthday yesterday and I was trying to think of something cute, useful and something she could use that I could make. I ALWAYS do things with photography PLUS her husband is having me do a photography project for him to give to her some time next week, so I FOR SURE didn't want to do anything with pictures. Finally, I came up with something. A scripture cover or Bible cover for the non-Mormons out there. I hadn't made one yet and I have been wanting to make one for a couple of months. I was going to do one for Tyler to match the bow tie I made him but I started doing other projects and forgot about it.
Any ways...I was on a mission and I think the cover I made turned out SO cute. In fact I told my husband, "I think I will make these for Christmas presents this year!" I went on etsy.com and was looking around at the ones on there. I wanted mine to be original and not ONE I saw on etsy.com looked like mine when it was done. How cute is this?
I love the colors! As you can see this is the left over fabric from the tank top I made Kayla while in Utah. I also wasn't sure if the flower would be too much so I put it on a brooch pin so my SIL can take it off if she wants to. I also put in two pencil holders on the inside
And then I made a tie for the top to close it. I thought about doing Velcro but I knew if she wanted to open her scriptures when it was quiet, it would be loud.
After church was over I asked Stacie if any one tried to steal her scriptures at church and she laughed and told me "everyone tried to steal them!" Which is why I named this blog post, "Don't be jealous!" I was thinking of doing a tutorial on this. Would it be helpful at all or would any one even like to see one? There are a couple out there so if you look it up you might be able to find one you like. So do you want to know the funny thing? At the last minute I cut some of it down before I sewed it together because I freaked out and thought it was gonna be too big. Yeah, it ended up being JUST the right size which would have been perfect except you are SUPPOSED to do a to stitch all the way around to sew the hole closed from turning the cover right side out! So what was a girl to do.....I FREAKING USED MY GLUE GUN! HAHAHA You can't tell at all looking at it or even touching it but how ghetto am I?
The flower and the ruffle are what made this one different from all the ones on Etsy.com which I think make it so adorable. I am thinking about making some to sell on etsy.com....we shall see. Hope everyone had a great Sunday! I FINALLY got to go to church for the first time in almost 2 months. I can't believe I was in UTAH for a month and didn't set foot in a Mormon church. LAME!
Thought I'd link to some parties this week!
