My back was killing me and I wasn't moving along very fast as I wanted. Thank you for your input. I know what you mean about the cartoonish look, wouldn't want that. Good idea about trying the size,I feel bad that I didn't think of that. I really appreciate your help. Off I go to the tie factory.Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15842815697938228305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8716022228775789595.post-30161712362061386932010-04-09T06:23:22.010-07:002010-04-09T06:23:22.010-07:00Marianne I am SO sorry for not writing you back so...Marianne I am SO sorry for not writing you back sooner. I made my sons bow tie kind of big and I would recommend that if you think the 13X7 is a good size, go a head and cut that out and just kind of fold the fabric in the shape of the bow tie to see how big it turns out. Bow ties, if TOO big look cartoonish you know. If it looks too big, then cut down the fabric and try again. Just do it all without sewing first. That way you don't waste fabric and all the time sewing. SO SORRY I didn't write back sooner. Happy sewing. Let me know how it turns out!! Oh and I would for sure stick with the 7 because if you do too much bigger then that I think it would look really big. :)Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10501249577240004302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8716022228775789595.post-18373440960398875482010-04-09T06:23:15.424-07:002010-04-09T06:23:15.424-07:00Marianne I am SO sorry for not writing you back so...Marianne I am SO sorry for not writing you back sooner. I am going to make them for my husband. I am making shrugs for me and then I thought I could use the same fabric for a matching time for him. I would appreciate your input...do you think the material would work at 13 x 7 or 11 by 7. And do you think the seven is still OK or should I add and inch or two.<br />Thank you for this tute.Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15842815697938228305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8716022228775789595.post-3922727004942624232010-04-06T07:40:38.869-07:002010-04-06T07:40:38.869-07:00Okay so I was totally looking for a tutorial like ...Okay so I was totally looking for a tutorial like this the other day and couldn't find one so I made my own bow tie tutorial--it's almost the same as yours!
